The floods in Pakistan are described as being of biblical proportions. The same rivers that have provided a lifeline to its people for centuries have now submerged a fifth of Pakistan's land mass and left 20 million homeless. Destruction, destitution and disease are problems that many believe can only be addressed when local resources are supplemented with financial help from the industrialized world.
